Our Story

In 2025, FORGE began as an effort to open Boston’s first queer bathhouse in almost 30 years.

In 2026, we moved into our current space, a yoga and wellness studio.

We host regular events featuring bodywork, connection, and relaxation for Boston’s LGBTQ+ community. Soon, we will add a sauna and wet area, bringing the bathhouse vision to life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Eventually, FORGE will be a bathhouse where queer people can gather, relax, and connect. For now, it’s a wellness space centered around naked bodywork and touch.

  • Our space at 336 Washington St. in Dorchester is a large, open yoga studio with a lobby, a tea lounge, two bathrooms, and a small massage room. We have a renovation plan involving adding a locker room, sauna, showers, and other amenities you expect at a queer bathhouse.

  • Like other bathhouses, we are a safe space for expression and connection. We are also different in that we provide classes and workshops that cater to a variety of subcommunities and gender identities.

  • Yes, you’re welcome but be mindful of your impact on the queer-centered space and be prepared to explore your queer side.

  • We hope to have regular hours when the sauna and the wet area are finished. Until then, please check the event schedule and get your tickets for specific workshops online, or at the door (if they are not sold out online). If you drop in, please be on time. Doors are locked and do not re-open when events start.

  • Events are posted on our website on a rolling basis, as they are scheduled. We also announce events on Instagram as well as our monthly email list. Typically, upcoming events are announced during the last week of each month.

  • We need volunteers! Email hello@forge-boston.com if you’d like to help with setup, lend supplies, lead a wellness offering, or introduce us to new spaces. We also welcome financial support for our renovation plans.
